The gîte is let from and to any day of the week (minimum booking 6 nights July and August other times minimum 4 nights) from 4p.m. on arrival day until 10a.m. on day of departure. Please ask if you wish to arrive earlier or leave later - it may be possible.
For four people to rent the whole gîte, please add £10 per night.
The gîte will easily accommodate more than four people. Please contact owner for prices.
20% discount (except for July and August) for one or two people renting the ground floor of the gîte for a minimum of 6 nights (otherwise pro rata prices apply- minimum booking 4 nights.)
Please confirm bookings by a deposit (non-refundable) of 25%. (Don't forget your holiday insurance!)
The balance should be paid eight weeks before the start of the holiday. If you have to cancel, the balance will be repaid if I manage to relet the gîte.
Please accompany the balance with a list of the members of your party including any who may be there for only part of the time.

La location du gîte est est de n'import quel jour à n'import quel jour. (Réservation minimum 6 nuits en juillet et août; autres mois 4 nuits) de 16.00h le jour d'arrivée à 10.00h le jour du départ. Prière de demander en avance si vous voulez arriver plus tôt ou partir plus tard - c'est souvent possible!
Le prix est pour le rez-de-chaussée - quatre personnes. Pour les deux étages (quatre personnes), prièr d'ajouter 14euros la nuit.
20% de remise (sauf en juillet et août) pour une ou deux personnes louant le rez-de-chaussée pour au moins 4 nuits.
La réservation du gîte se fait avec un payment de 25%.
Prière de payer le reste huit semaines avant le debut des vacances et d'envoyer une liste des personnes faisant partie de votre goupe.

Travel

Ferry prices seem to have gone up a lot . Check fares with www.ferrybookers.com
Portsmouth/Poole crossings:- Easiest drive is from St Malo, next easiest is Caen, then Le Havre. Longest drive, Cherbourg
If you live in the West Country, then the Plymouth- Roscoff crossing makes sense; a long drive on good clear roads in France avoids a trek along the south coast to Portsmouth.
If you are doing the short
crossing via the tunnel
or ferry, check on what traffic is likely to be like, especially at weekends
in July and August round Paris.
Alternatives are:-
With hire car:-
Eurostar to Angoulême via Lille or Paris (cross Paris on the metro): www.raileurope.com or www.eurail.com
Fly Flybe/Ryanair to Limoges or Bergerac, (both about 1hr 15minutes drive from Laroche) or even La Rochelle if you want time on the coast.
Another possibility:-
Take your car on the train from Britain to Brive overnight. Brive is 100 km (60 miles) from Laroche. A family of five found it similar in price to flying to Limoges + car hire and the children thought it super!
